Eberhard Ross  I  a t a r a x i a

23 October 2026 - 19 December 2026

Eberhard Ross understands painting as a form of notation and memory. His pictures emerge from a slow, concentrated process in which color and drawing condition permeate one another. The result is layered, vibrating surfaces that depict nothing and assert nothing. At the center is time: the works feel more like sound than image and invite calm, attentive looking. The exhibition presents works in oil on canvas, hardboard, and wood, ranging from small, intimate panels to large formats. The title a t a r a x i a, Greek for tranquility or imperturbability, does not describe a state but an attitude: a constant beginning anew. Ross, born in Krefeld in 1959, lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr and Frankfurt am Main.
