ARTIST STATEMENT
»My work explores ontological realms, questioning the nature of being, existence, and reality. It centers on concepts of consciousness and limitations of the body, with experiences that reach through and surpass the physical, taking form primarily in painting, but also in sculpture, photography, and printmaking. I am largely inspired by nature as a continuation of the human body, incorporating organic materials like linen, cotton, clay, sunlight, natural pigments, and minerals. Trained in a classical art academy and art school from an early age, I have developed a fine hyper-realistic technique, which Ijuxtapose with fiction in my visual language, resulting hyper-real abstractions and dreamscapes. Through my work, I seek to evoke a meditative space, where the viewer encounters dimensions beyond the visible.
My research is evolving around practices of slowing down as a balancing act from the fast-paced hectic lifestyle of the modern age, which gravitational pull is often dispersing life-experience to the periphery. I turn to natural aesthetics and symbolism to visually ground or elevate the viewer’s attention towards the center. Be it a compositional or a metaphorical one.«
